Nadine began serving in our group of receptionists in 2000. Nadine volunteers three days a week, greeting our guests, answering calls, and aiding the staff in various office tasks. Nadine volunteers because God gave her a love for helping people and she feels she can put that passion to good use at First Baptist Raytown.
Every day since 1984 when her first husband passed away, Nadine has worn a butterfly pin on her shoulder. It reminds her of what Jesus did for her, changing her from a worm to a butterfly. She has been able to use the symbol of a butterfly as a way to share her faith with other Christians and others who do not have a relationship with Christ. Nadine certainly has a heart for evangelism. She has been blessed to make six international life-changing mission trips. She has been to Honduras, Venezuela, Russia, Nicaragua, and twice to Israel.
Nadine has many favorite Bible verses, but at the top of the list is 1 Peter 5:7: “Casting all your care on Him for He careth for you.” She likes to think of casting her cares as dumping garbage because if she goes fishing, she might reel those cares back in, but she won’t go back after the garbage.
